Australia Skilled Independent Visa (Sub Class 189), Changing lives !

This visa category is for skilled workers from across the globe, who are  willing to establish a career and settle down in Australia. It is not sponsored by state, a family member or any employer. This visa falls under the sub class 189. It allows you the freedom of becoming a permanent resident and work in Australia. First you need to know that your occupation is nominated or mentioned in the skilled occupation list which is generally released every year in the month of July. Also, you should be competent in English in terms of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking and lastly should not be more than 50 years of age.

If you are

·         18-24 years of age then will get - 25 points

·         25-32 years of age - 30 points

·         33-39 years of age - 25 points

·         40-44 years of age - 15 points

·         45-49 years of age - 0 points

·         Above 50 years of age are not applicable.


English Language Ability :


If you score

6.0 points in IELTS in all the streams (Speaking, Reading, Listening, and Writing) then will score - 0 point
Proficient English, if you score 7.0 bands in each - 10 points
Superior English, if you score 8.0 bands in each - 20 points


Skilled Employment:


It should be in the skilled nominated occupation for which you are applying. If you have 3-5 years of skilled employment in last 10 years - 5 points

If you have 5-8 years of skilled employment in last 10 years - 10 points
If you have 8-10 years of skilled employment in last 10 years - 15 points.


Qualifications


Doctorate - 20 points
Bachelors from recognized institution - 15 points
Diploma or trade qualification in Australia - 10 points
Qualification recognized by Authority under Skilled occupation list - 10 points


Partner Skill qualification - 5 points
