New Expression of Interest System by Quebec Immigration

Immigration ministry of Quebec has announced on 4^th July 2018 the Express Entry-style application intake system which would start its process from 2^nd August 2018. The policies were announced on twitter by provincial nominee minister David Heurtel a day before i.e. on 3^rd July 2018. They would be passed shortly by Minister’s order.

This system would replace the previous system that was first come first serve application process for the non-cap exempt candidates under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP). It is expected to reduce the processing time of the application to less than year i.e. application would be processed with the 12 months’ time period.

New Process of Quebec Declaration of Interest System

Under the new process of Quebec Declaration of Interest system, Quebec’s Immigration ministry has announced the following changes in order to process the application faster. This has come as a sigh of relief of many people who plan to immigrate to the said province.

• Candidates who have scored the highest points are invited to apply for Quebec Selection System (CSQ).
• Interested candidates must submit a declaration of interest.
• Once the candidates are issued the CSQ certificate, they should submit the federal application.
• A candidate who has received an invitation should submit their completed application to the Quebec immigration ministry for CSQ.
  

Quebec Immigration Investor Program (QIIP) Changes

Changes have been made to Quebec Immigration investor Program as well under the new rules. In this the minimum investment has been hiked to CAD 1.2 million from the previous amount that was CAD 800,000. Also the minimum net worth has been hiked to CAD 2 million from the previous amount CAD 1.6 million.

Minimum Requirements of QIIP

In order to be eligible for the new Quebec Immigration Investor Program (QIIP), a candidate must fulfill the following requirements in order to proceed further. Following are those requirements:-

• A candidate should hold a minimum of 2 years of suitable management or business experience within five years before filing the visa.
• A candidate must show their intend to settle in the Quebec province.
• Candidate should have legally acquired net worth of CAD 2 million.
• A candidate must do an investment of CAD 1.2 million into a passive government guaranteed investment for a period of five years bearing no interest.
  

Quebec Economic Integration Target for 2018

Quebec immigration has set some economic integration target for 2018. It hasn’t accepted fresh applications since 2016, this year they plan to accept 30000 new skilled worker immigration annually. Following is the list of new applicants to be accepted.
